Minor roadtrip hiccups

Minor roadtrip hiccups today, when, 3 days after I initially devised the drive down 95, several components of the trip came unhinged.

In order for me to take any roadtrip, someone needs to man my desk at work.  I have two student workers, who seemed eager to work as much as possible, until one of them told me they couldn’t work Wednesday.  Yikes.  That’s the middle of the trip, the virtual, or maybe literal keystone of the whole week.  Luckily, a third student worker was available, though not as available as I had thought.  Crisis slightly averted.  We’ll say I sidestepped it.

Another hiccup was that my roadtrip pal, who we’ll call Catherine, wasn’t aware that there is nothing remotely booked about this trip.  Folks are efforting to deliver three nights in Disney World, but three nights in Disney World are nigh on impossible to track down at this point in time, even in three different resorts.  Not an issue.  From what I hear, they play baseball all over that sandbar, and finding a game should be no sweat.  I thought Catherine knew that we couldn’t get any, but she wasn’t.

I hear they also have alligators down there, and a trip to see some in the Everglades would be fantastic.  Seeing that 7 mile bridge would be incredible too, even if I secretly wished it would be 8 miles.  Miami’s down there, excitement really lurks around every corner.  It should be a fun trip, and hopefully my trio of student workers can hold the fort down while I struggle to find a place to stay.
